The Baguio-La Trinidad-Itogon-Sablan-Tublay-Tuba (BLISTT) Airshed Governing Board convened its meeting at Fortune Hotel, Baguio City.
The meeting was attended by La Trinidad Mayor Honorable Romeo K. Salda together with Mr. Arthur Pedro and Ma. Angelica Tinoyan of the MENRO La Trinidad, Atty. John Ray Libiran, Legal Affairs Director of the Saint Louis University, Mr. Aris Della Jr. of NEDA-CAR, Ms. Susana Carbonell of TESDA-CAR, Ms. Emmalyn Jimenez of the DA-CAR, Norman Ramirez and Rolly Raymundo from LGU Tuba, Dr. Marissa Parao of Benguet State University, Mr. Mark Anthony Navalta and Jennilyn Avelino, OIC Assistant Regional Director of the DOTR-CAR, Engr. Wilbur Suanding and Mr. Norman Parado of the LGU Baguio, Engr. Benigno Apidos of the LGU Itogon, Engr. Marivic Empizo of PEZA and Ms. Vilma Talamayan of the DPWH-CAR. The meeting was facilitated by Engr. Raul G. Cubangay and Ms. Wilhelmina Lagunilla of the EMB-CAR.
Engr. Isidore Magnus Bautista of the Ambient Section of EMB CAR presented on the 1st Quarter Air Quality in the BLISTT area. Overall, the air quality of the BLISTT plays around good to fair since there are changes in the quarantine protocols.
Mr. Norman Nicoli Parado of the City Environment and Parks Management Office of Baguio City presented on the Accomplishments of the City of Baguio in the 1st Quarter of 2021. From the 4 sampling stations, all results came out good to fair on the following sampling stations namely the Lift Station fronting the DOH-CAR, Mines View Park, Petron Gas Station Legarda Rd. and Sto. Tomas – Green Valley Junction. With regards to the Roadside Inspection Testing and Monitoring Team (RITMT) there were 166 operations conducted during the 1st Quarter of 2021. Among the vehicles tested there were 1, 587 passed and 471 failed.
Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer Mr. Arthur Pedro invites everyone on the Tree Planting Activity to be held on the last week of June in La Trinidad. He presented on the Adopt a Tree Program on the Green Buffer Zone of La Trinidad, BLISTT Anti-Smoke Belching Task Force, Roadside Emission Testing, the Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (DOAS) was already installed along the La Trinidad Public Market, the Apprehension of Violators on Clean Air Act, and the Inventory on the number of Municipal Employees with Vehicles.
For LGU Tuba and LGU Itogon they are conducting Information Education Campaigns to their respective barangays on Clean Air Act and joins La Trinidad on the inspection of roadside monitoring since there are still no deputized officer in their municipalities.
The said meeting was then capped by the updates and announcements of the present agencies.
