In 2019, EAGLE or the Environmental Awards for Governance and Leadership was established through DENR Administrative Order No. 2019-04 to promote culture of organizational and leadership excellence in the DENR as it carries out its important role in ensuring the conservation, management, development and proper use of the country’s environment and natural resources.

During the celebration of the 34th Founding Anniversary of the DENR last June 10, 2021, selected DENR officials were recognized and honored during the EAGLE Award 2020 for demonstrating effectiveness and excellence in implementing the mandate of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
