Engr. Ma. Rowena M Caccam, Chief of Licenses, Patents and Deeds Division of the DENR CAR explained the process of acquiring titling on residential lands, agricultural lands, and the free patent under RA 10023 to help and ensure the Municipality of Tuba of their land titles.
Ms. Edralyn Balasin of the Conservation and Development Division of the DENR CAR talked about Cave Management and its great significance in purpose of nature values protection. Also, local people can help significantly in preserving, spreading ideas and in realization of carrying out the cave management by conscience raising and ecologic education.
Ms. Fernie Sitsit of the Solid Waste Management Section of EMB-CAR lectured about proper Solid Waste Management under RA 9003. The RA 9003 provides the necessary policy framework, institutional mechanisms, and mandate to the local government units (LGUs) to achieve 25% waste reduction through the establishment of integrated solid waste management plan.
Ms. Mary Claire Luminang, Information Officer of EMB-CAR discussed Behavioral Change on Solid Waste Management through changing perspective on how, we as an individual can be a solution to the increasing problem on pollution of solid wastes.
Vice Mayor Maria L. Carantes thanked the organizers and speakers for a productive day in their discussion of the different topics. She also emphasized that it is high time that these kinds of activities are conducted in the different LGUs to help them in enforcing and protecting the environment.
The Talakayan sa LGU/Paaralan is a program to educate diverse audiences with specific lectures that are appropriate to their respective needs. Through the said program, awareness and sensitivity to the environment and environmental challenges for the Teachers and LGU Officials will be given more consideration.
