In partnership with Environmental Management Bureau-Cordillera Administrative Region and coordination with other agencies and companies, the Municipality of La Trinidad conducted Balili River clean-up drive on November 26, 2021.

Hon. Romeo Salda, Municipal Mayor of La Trinidad acknowledged the EMB-CAR for their relentless support to the municipality’s workforce in sustaining a healthy of environment through various activities, he likewise thanked the volunteers for their continued commitment to save Balili River; and informed them on the proposed construction of a Sewerage Treatment Facility for the coming year.

Hon. Roderick Awingan further emphasized the essence of this voluntary act as an endeavor that the residents will benefit from, especially when Balili heals. He then quoted, “what we do today is what we are in the future”.

Ms. Wilhelmina O. Lagunilla, Section Chief of Ambient Monitoring Section, and representating the EMB-CAR Regional Director, expressed her appreciation to volunteers for their participation to attain its core goal to restore Balili River. She further reminded them of the importance of rehabilitation and preservation of waterways as she mentioned the example of Boracay and Manila Bay’s transformation. The volunteers are representatives from La Trinidad MPS Main, BFP La Trinidad, Provincial Capitol BJMP, Tiong San Km4, Fog2Zero Disinfecting Services, Personnel of the General Services Office , Brigade, and utilities of La Trinidad Municipal Hall.
