Environmental Management Bureau of Central Office headed by Engr. Jundy Del Socorro, Chief of Air Quality Management Section led a workshop on Air Dispersion Modeling to EMB-CAR personnel on November 8-10, 2021.

The workshop aims to capacitate the EMB-CAR on American Meteorological Society/Environmental Protection Agency Regulatory Model (AERMOD), a software modelling used extensively to assess pollution concentration and deposition from a wide variety of sources in locations all over the world. Likewise, they introduced Meteorological Data Processing using Airmen’s Meteorological Information (AERMET) based on weather phenomena.

Engr. Jundy Del Socorro introduced complete data of emission inventory that result to more realistic Air Dispersion Modeling (ADM). These includes the use of Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) format of coordinates for an ADM since the coordinates are decimal as being used in permitting and database submitted to Planning Unit.

Ms. Wilhelmina O. Lagunilla, Section Chief of Ambient Monitoring Section acknowledged the team for extending their support to bureau’s objective in acquainting technical personnel on further strategic inventory analysis for essential references on environmental management.
