The Environmental Management Bureau Cordillera Administrative Region culminated the weeklong Household E-Waste Collection Event ON November 20, 2022 with an estimated volume of 2.017 metric tons of collected e-wastes. Said wastes were hauled by the Integrated Recycling Industries (IRI), a DENR-accredited hazardous waste transporter. The collected e-wastes will be properly turned over to a registered Treatment Storage and Disposal (TSD) Facility in coordination with UNIDO for proper treatment and disposal.
The weeklong activity is in support to the “Implementation of PCB Management Programs for Electric Cooperatives and Safe E-Wastes Management,” headed by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Global Environment Facility (GEF) in partnership with the DENR-EMB which is being implemented all over the country.
We would like to thank our partners and the general public for making this event a success!
